Grinding machines for injection systems

Brütsch Elektronik produced a configurable and modular software solution on Sinumerik 840D for a new generation of HTT Hauser Tripet Tschudin AG circular grinding machines.  This solution offers precision, productivity and flexibility throughout the client’s range of circular grinders.

Modular software solution for circular grinding machines

To ensure user-friendly operation with online help and an integrated machine handbook, a flexible and open operator interface was developed using Visual Basic. For additional software solutions such as programming systems and tool maintenance systems we developed Windows-based modules and programs for the 840D.
  • The integrated Simatic S7 acts as the ‘nerve centre’ for all software functions.  In addition to its main activity – controlling all peripherals and aggregates – it also administers access rights for fitters, operators and programmers together with the machine guidelines for operator protection.

Wide range of machine configurations possible

Thanks to the modular design of the PLC software, a wide range of machine configurations for exterior and interior circular grinding can be entered into the operating processor with complete flexibility.
  • It was possible to develop the software modules quickly and stably and incorporating all system-wide communication.  The software modules available include: MMC applications for operator interfaces for various machine tools; help programs such as programmer systems, dressing programs etc.; and communications for NCU and PLC; NCU-ISO cycles for complex machining operations in several welding applications, measures and geometry cycles for various machine tools and technology structures for noncircular machining; and S7 PLC applications for a wide range of machine tools
  • The consequent use of Profibus DP and Simatic S7 meant that they were able to reduce not only development costs for complex data communications to peripheral systems such as measuring control and handling systems; these machines will also have low follow-up maintenance and servicing costs.
